About Barbara
Ms. Kirby is a graduate of the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and has a broad background in agriculture and equestrian activities. She has ridden professionally and was formerly with the United States Department of Agriculture. An accomplished equestrian, in 1976 Ms. Kirby showed an Arabian to National Championship Honors. In 1994 and 1998 she was awarded the National Championship for AHSA Adult Hunt Seat Equitation. Ms. Kirby has shown horses on the "A" Hunter/Jumper circuit and was competitive in Combined Training, Dressage, and Combined Driving. After an absence, Ms. Kirby is back on the Hunter/Jumper circuit. She has been on the USDF Zone 7 Committee and the National Hunter/Jumper Council’s Owner’s Committee. Ms. Kirby is a past president of the Greater Kansas City Independent Insurance Agents Association and past president of the Kansas City Professional Horsemen’s Association.
